Ok, so I know it has been a gazillion years since I posted anything. I had a few quiet moments, so here I go.
Yesterday was a snow day- we got 6.5 inches of snow here. Anyone who knows me well knows that I am a little kid when it comes to snow. If I hear the "S" Word on the weather forecast, I start watching the news religiously. Things were no different this time! I found myself looking out the window every chance I got on Sunday but kept seeing rain. Lots of rain. I decided to take a nap because that is what we do on a rainy weekend, right? I awoke to the sound of Scott opening blinds downstairs... but why? Oooh! Oooh! SNOW! I looked out the window and what did I see? The ground covered in white fluffy stuff! YAHOO!! I looked up at the clock to see what time it was- so I could judge the length of my nap. No numbers on the clock. What? Oh! I live in the boonies. Snow = no power. Oh well! It snowed!
Fast forward to 24 hours later. The snow is melting. The power is still out and I need a shower!
During the excitement of the snow and not having power, my precious boys have been sick. We were told by the doctor that they have colds. Saturday, Carter had a really high fever so we called the pediatrician's office and the nurse on call said they most likely had the flu. Lovely!
So, the dilemma- snow on the ground (which NEVER happens around here) vs. sick kids who don't need to be outside. Add to this a mommy who is very child-like in her love of snow. Guess what we did yesterday?! We only let the boys stay outside for a 20-30 mins. and we wrapped them up really well. I pray I don't regret that decision later but the had a good time. We played on a sled my mom got them for Christmas (again in a place where it NEVER snows- go figure) and we made the bottom third of a snowman.
In summary, we still have a cold, the flu, whatever. We played in the snow and we now have power, so I finally got a shower!
School is closed today so we are going to have another relaxing day. I am hoping the boys will rest up and feel better so they can get back to school. We ALL need for them to get back to school! :-)

Jenny, My Muse
Ok, my BFF is really into this blogging thing and I feel like I need to keep up. The real reason that I am updating my blog is that Scott got a new laptap and I am giving it a test run.
We have had a busy couple of weeks. We went on a true vacation last week, complete with actually paying money to stay somewhere! Shari, Mike and Lily, Scott's parents and my little family went to Wears Valley, TN, which is right outside of Pigeon Forge. We rented a beautiful cabin a million miles up in the air (seriously! I was afraid to leave the house at night and wasn't too fond of leaving during the day either. It was SCARY!) Aside from the fact that I think I must be somewhat afraid of heights, the views were magnificent! I will post some pics later. The second night that we were there alot of the mountains got snow and we could see the snow covered mountains from the comfort of the living room. We had a great time! Nana took the boys to the Ripley's aquarium in Gatlinburg and they had a blast! We were on this little vacation for Halloween so we let the boys trick or treat around the house. They went door to door (bedroom to bedroom) and Aunt Shari and I tried to come up with some creative ways to scare them when they came knocking on our doors. I even managed to lay down on top of the washer and dryer- you don't want to know!!
Since the mountain trip I have focused my attention on the upcoming (not yet) Christmas holiday. My friend Cherie asked if I was skipping Thanksgiving. Are you kidding? Have you seen me? No way I am skipping turkey day but I can include the Christmas decor in my Thanksgiving feast, can't I?
I put my indoor tree up today but the darn lights would not work and I got frustrated so the decorating will have to wait until another day. Maybe tomorrow after I buy more lights?
Anyway, life is great here. I love my boys (even the adult one) and could not ask for more. Except maybe that the light fairies could fix my Christmas tree lights while I am in bed tonight!
